Karlem
Karlem is the provider and Lead Teacher of Danby Daycare. She lives in Danby with her son, her partner, and his two children. She is originally from Caracas, Venezuela, and moved to the US when she was 15. She started her journey in childhood education by doing Primitive Pursuits’ “Wilderness Skills Instruction Training” in 2013. This experience enhanced her connection with the natural world and provided her with a framework for working with children based on curiosity and a love of learning. Most recently, she worked for EAC Montessori School as an elementary teacher. During this time she completed introductory training in Montessori for ages 3-6 and did extensive coursework in Montessori for ages 6-9. Karlem loves helping children find and follow their passion. The Danby Pre-school is the culmination of her love for teaching, languages, movement, nature, and art.
